What's new on Netflix Australia for October 2018

As the number of shows and movies available to stream in Australia continues to grow at an impressive rate, it can be tough to keep up with all the new additions to each streaming service each month.

We've all come to anticipate a new stable of Netflix Originals releases each month, but figuring out which shows they are and when exactly they become available isn't so easy. And what about the large number licensed shows and films that are made available to stream, if only for a limited time?

In an effort to keep you informed of the best shows and movies that are in the process of being added to Netflix, we'll be bringing you an updated list of what you can expect on the service on a monthly basis.

Not only that, we'll also be singling out the biggest releases, as well as a number of quality TV shows and films which we believe deserve your Netflixing time.

So get ready to kick off the month with an epic binge – here's what's new on Netflix in October 2018. Check out the month's highlights video below!

TV shows highlights for October 2018

Making a Murderer: Part 2 (19/10/2018)

Surely one of the most anticipated continuations in Netflix history, Making a Murderer: Part 2 continues Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey's fight for exoneration in a new 10-part series.  Find out more about it here

Marvel’s Daredevil: Season 3 (19/10/2018)

Presumed dead by his friends and the Defenders, Matt Murdock rises from the ashes when his arch enemy Wilson Fisk is released from prison and goes straight back to corrupting Hell's Kitchen. Check out the teaser trailer

Hip-Hop Evolution: Season 2 (19/10/2018)

If you loved the first series of Hip-Hop Evolution as much as we did, you'll be ecstatic to find out that a second season is on the way! Join Shad Kabango as he traces the growth of hip-hop subcultures in New York, the South and Oakland, California, in the '80s and '90s.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (26/10/2018)

From the makers of Riverdale comes the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Forget the cute '90s sitcom starring Melissa Joan Hart, because this version of the Archie comic promises to be darker, scarier and much more Satanic.

Castlevania: Season 2 (26/10/2018)

One of the few video game adaptations to be embraced by fans, Castlevania is back with an expanded second season that finds Dracula and his legion of vampires preparing to rid the world of humanity's stain. Unfortunately for him, an unlikely trio of heroes dares to stand in his way.

The Haunting of Hill House (12/10/2018)

This scary Netflix Original series follows a fractured family as they confront haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it. Stars Carla Gugino.

Movies highlights for October 2018

22 July (10/10/2018)

From director Paul Greengrass (United 93, Captain Philips) comes 22 July, an emotionally shattering retelling of the most mass shooting and terrorist attack in Norway's history. The film follows the survivors -- and the country -- as they rally for healing and justice.

Apostle (12/10/2018)

In this thriller from the director of The Raid, a man travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister, who was kidnapped by a murderous religious cult. Expect plenty of brutal violence and cult-themed horror.

Arrival (22/10/2018)

This fantastic science fiction classic from Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049) sees a linguist (masterfully played by Amy Adams) recruited by the military in order to communicate with alien lifeforms after twelve mysterious spacecrafts are found hovering in various parts of the world.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (4/10/2018)

In this cool 1960s-set spy movie from director Guy Ritchie, CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Henry Cavill) and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organisation, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons. Also stars Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant.

Casino (5/10/2018)

From director Martin Scorsese comes another epic tale of greed, deception, money, power and murder, as two best friends (Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci) come to increasingly violent blows over a gambling empire and a destructive woman (Sharon Stone). Watch if you loved Goodfellas.
